Direct Buried Microduct

Direct Buried Microduct

  • TWD
    • THICK-WALLED DUCT (TWD) is designed for direct burial by having the thicker inner tube. It has the advantage for easy and fast termination with a thin outer sheath. The thickness of each inner tube allows individual tubes to be used in any direct buried solution. This item is suitable for any construction sites such asopen cut, Micro trenching, Mini trenching and HDD. This product is usually recommended for sites which requires fast and easy sheath cutting during fiber branch off from the Fiber Control Panel (FCP).
    •

The illustrations below display the range for a 2way to the 24+1way tube microduct.

  • Flat and Link Duct
    • For micro-trenching with the narrow width, FLAT or LINK DUCT are the best optimized microduct. The product itself can be placed vertically to fit in a micro-trench. The size of the product is relatively small.  This smaller size allows for more economical shipping and handling with the smaller reel size. Since Flat and Link Duct have the same thickness as TWD, customers can enjoy the same benefits of TWD.
  • Flat Duct have individual tubes for 2Way, 3Way and 4Way flat ducts.  For 5Way and larger, the 2Way, 3Way, and 4Way tubes are linked together, e.g., a 2Way and a 3Way are linked to form a 5Way.  Link Ducts have individual tubes that are linked together to form 2Way thru 7Way ducts.  The higher tube connections that are linked tighter enable easy tear-down without cutting the primary tube; which supports faster branch-off work in distribution or fan-out points. This can save the installer time and material cost as they can connect each connection point without mid-span or branch connections.

The illustrations below a for flat ducts.

Combined Duct

Different sizes of microduct tubes can be mixed in one bundled microduct for a combination of i) feeder, distribution, and last mile, ii) feeder and distribution, iii) feeder and last mile, or iv) distribution and last mile. Using combined duct in one microduct is quite often a more cost-effective installed cost solution for the duct infrastructure. For example, if the network design only requires 3 tubes for 144 core of ABC (Air Blown Fiber Optic Cable) and 5 tubes for the subscribers using 8 core, you will have total 8 tubes but different size of tube. 14/10mm 3way + 8/4mm 5way (3 tubes for 144 core of ABC and 5 tubes for upto 12 core of ABF ) is right configuration for this case.

The illustrations below depict a combination of three different sizes of tubes and a combination of two different sizes of tubes.  Other configurations are available for combination in terms of the number and size of the tubes.

Direct Installed Microduct

DIRECT INSTALL APPLICATION is another way to deploy telecommunication ducting pipe. It involves installation of sub-duct into an existing ducting pipe. This method is usually chosen when the environment is considered as a brown field, which is a site that has the presence of existing ducts.

DI-HS

DIRECT INSTALL HIGH STRENGTH duct is designed for installation duct and sub duct. This product will install in the existing infrastructure with high crush resistance. The thin wall of inner tube can make it easy to bend or fix inside of cabinet or closure.

DI-AL

DIRECT INSTALL ALUMINUM duct is designed for installation of multi-duct within a larger existing conduit. The aluminum tape helps to block water intrusion. This product will install in the existing infrastructure with high crush resistance.

DI-MD

Utilizing empty duct or subduct is the best choice for a metro area to meet the growing demands of network expansion. Direct Install Multi Duct is the configuration with thin-walled duct and sheath duct which brings economical to optimize for pre-existing duct.

  • Connectors/Couplers
      • Straight Connectors.  Can be re-used up to 10 times for air-blown systems.
      • Connector Cover.  Used in place of a duct closure to protect the connector and end cap for direct burial.
      • End Cap.  Used for temporary or permanent sealing of unused microducts to prevent the intrusion of potential obstacles like water, mud, dirt, etc.
      • Allows interconnection between microducts that have different outer diameters.
      • Bulkhead Connector.  Used for distributing and arranging the inner tubes of bundled microduct on the frame combined with the Mounting Rack and the Patch Panel.  This connector is also suitable for the Air Blown System.
      • Installed to block the inflow of materials, like harmful gas, water, and dust.
    • Branch Unit Closure
      • When the outer sheath of a duct is removed, a branch closure is used to protect the exposed tubes.  This closure can be used for direct bury applications, or installation in a manhole or handhole.  These connectors are not water tight but the duct connections points are protected from moisture by straight connectors and end caps. The three main closure types are I/Y, T, and D.  We also provide the grommets
    • Tools:  Microduct cutters, sheath removers (Slitter), round cutter, tube cutter, and tool box are available to our customers.

      Indoor/High Rise

Indoor Application requires best quality of ducting pipe that can provide safety to the building. This method is the most appropriate for in building infrastructure.  Generally, the ducting pipe must comply with municipality and national authority standards and regulations on fire safety. The ducting pipe must be produced for flame retardant.

      • Indoor use with flame retardant properties (IEC 60332 Part 1&3)
      • Low smoke emissions
      • Contains no Halogens.
      • Low friction internal coating for maximum fiber blowing distance
      • For the North American market, UL 2024 Standard for Signaling, Optical Fiber and Communications Raceways and Cable Routing Assemblies Riser Listed Certificate
      • Complies with national and international standards and codes.

      • LSZH (Low Smoke Zero Halogen)
        • The LSZH microduct is surrounded with a sheath of LSZH material, giving excellent performance in a fire. The lightweight, metal free, flexible LSZH microduct is intended for indoor installation.
      • HLSZH (Hybrid Low Smoke Zero Halogen)
        • The primary tubes are surrounded by a layer of moisture barrier nonmetallic tape and a flame retardant, low smoke zero halogen (LSZH) polyolefin. The LSZH sheath provides increased protection during installation. The sheath is easily removed to facilitate microduct termination.
      • LSZN Link Duct
        • This fully low smoke zero halogen duct is lighter to handle for installer. Its elastic sheath is easily torn off during installation. Its linked shape is designed to provide easy branching without any additional branch closure needed.

      Aerial MicroDuct

The figure-8 self-supporting aerial microduct is used for conditions where microduct is not going to be installed by burial due to time, cost, or time and cost issues.  This microduct has high UV resistance with black polyethylene sheath for outdoor use and a strength member that is a galvanized wire strand with high tensile strength to withstand severe load.

      • Aerial Metallic Strength Member
        • The aerial microduct has been designed for installation along aerial pole lines. It’s built-in strength member securely attaches to the pole to create a no-lash aerial network. The metallic strength member provides superior strength for longer spans.
      • Aerial Dielectric Strength Member
        • The aerial microduct has been designed for installation along aerial pole lines. It’s built-in strength member securely attaches to the pole to create a no-lash aerial network. The dielectric strength member provides the microduct with the ability to withstand an electrical surge without becoming conductive.
